Good food and when we went a great bartender. It certainly had atmosphere I enjoyed and lots of locals to speak to.

Great food and great customer service! Sweet potato fries and curly fries were soooooo good! 🤤🤤 Plus they were very friendly to our two dogs and brought them a water bowl.

The hidden dining gem of Carmel Valley! Ecclectic Cowboy decor in a quaint setting in Downtown Carmel Valley. Great quality food, portions, and varied menu. Courteous staff and well priced meals.

Loved this place. We were in town for a weekend reunion and this was conveniently a block away from our lodging. We were a large group with lots special instructions, and they didn't blink and eye. We had a variety of items, and census was two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

For an English tourist this was a great lucky find for lunch. It sounds silly but the valley omelette was great, the service was great and the ambiance was great as well. Then I asked the guys at the bar for directions for 101 South and when I said I wasn't in a hurry they recommended the local road which was fabulous. Really great place, food and people. Loved it.

Only stopped in to have a draft beer and the selection was good. The atmosphere is a mix between an old saloon and a barn-like museum with a collection of a ton of interesting items hung all over the walls and ceiling. The food looked good from what we could tell. Good service and friendly staff.

It is the iron...strong and steady..a place where everybody knows your name.

Nice restaurant, ok menu. We had big burgers that were good, not excellent but after having a lot of seafood, we were ready for beef.

Disappointed. Have eaten here many times over the years and was looking forward to a burger and artichokes with friends. Artichokes were smaller than I've had before here and to crunchy. Burger mediocre. Drove 3 hours from coulterville and was disappointed. Server was pleasant

We ordered the enchiladas and burritos with beef and pork chili verde.Both were excellent. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Kid friendly.

Today is my husband's birthday and he choose Running Iron. He wanted a good homecooked meal with real ingredients. The running iron never fails. We dont eat out often. However, we find ourselves at the running iron at least once a month.

A little spendy but food was good. Service was alright ambiance was excellent and thought provoking.

I've been eating here since I was little. Always loved it. But this last time I ate there, on my 23rd day (yesterday), made me rethi5nk eating here again. My friend ordered Valley burger aMynd was sick to his ⁸ immediately but was fine within. Couple hour8 tos. my mom's and I got French dip. around 4 am the bubble guts started. mom was okay but noom.. as for me Let me just say I'm writing this from the bathroom where most my bday was spent.

Definitely a very fun dive bar with great bartenders. Don't eat the pizza at the bar.

Good food and a great location

Drove over from pebble beach with my hubby for our big 10 year anniversary (his choice) if I'm being honest I wasn't thrilled when he chose this place but I went along with it. I'm hooked we have been back 4 times since and it has become our go to place for celebrations.

Food was good, service good. Salad not quite as fresh as expected. Fries are slightly breaded, which tasted fine. But I would not have ordered them that way. Overall, a good place to return. Old time equine decor was fun.

We stopped here for lunch on a ride through Carmel Valley. We walked through the bar to get to the outside seating which had plenty of shade. I had the Cobb Salad with steak. The salad was absolutely fantastic; the greens tasted like they were just picked that morning. The steak was juicy and tender.

I went last night (Sunday) for the first time, kinda randomly. Great atmosphere, good burger, and super nice waitress!

Wine pouring lady at nearby wine tasting room recommended this place as a Wild West kind of saloon type restaurant kind of like tourist attraction. And probably she was right. It was old, dirty and Bison burger I ordered was overcooked, dry and tasteless and waiter brought my wife inedible over cooked and dry chicken she did not order. The whole experience was terrible. I added one start because she did not charge us for chicken. Avoid if you can.

Best casual lunch spot in Carmel Valley. One of those truly authentic places where the atmosphere isn't just nailed up on the wall.Large, quality, portions and good sized menu.Great bar as well. A frequent hangout for locals and Carmel Valley Road travelers.

Just had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Service was so awful it was almost like performance art. We watched 3 tables who got seated after us finish eating before we ever saw our food. Food finally showed up over 45 minutes after we ordered (a burger and a turkey sandwich) and the burger had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp for way too long, to the point that the bun was actually turning into crumbs at the slightest touch. No apologies for the delay at all. After we got our food the waitress (who seemed like she might have been drunk) completely disappeared for 20 minutes. We tried to order a slice of pie but that took another 15 minutes, after which time no pie actually arrived. Instead we were brought disgusting bread pudding “on the house.” Nothing else was comped.

Good food and friendly service. Nice outside seating with beautiful views. But we don't get in a hurry in this part of the world and you shouldn't either.

The running iron in Carmel valley has been a meeting spot for my friends and family for years and years..Always a fun place to visit with old friends.Great service..great bartender's and servers.Good food and drinks.A spot for the locals and passer bys as well..Carmel valley is a great place to visit when in the Monterey Bay area.

The food is consistently good, and more importantly the wait staff and bartender are friendly and attentive. We always have a great time here and the staff always makes us feel welcomed. This is one of our family’s favorite places to go as the staff and menu are very kid friendly, and after the kitchen closes it’s a great place to meet up with friends for a late night drink.

Always friendly, the food that I have had was excelent. The bar is cozy, with a. small fire pit in the corner.
